Exercise and cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure
Contraindications:
- unstable angina
- severe coronary stenosis (left side)
- ventricular tachycardia
- sudden drop in pressure while exercising
- congestive heart failure

| Peripheral vascular disease | 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercises, 3 x/ week (push a little further each time but with no pain). |
| Cerebrovascular accident |
Strength
exercises 3x/week: increasing intensity progressively. Balance exercises to improve mobility and prevent falls. Stretching to prevent or treat contractures. |
