Exercise and cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure

Contraindications:

Recommendations for an exercise program
Disease Exercise program
Hypertension Aerobic exercises at least 3 x/week at moderate intensity.
Coronary artery disease Aerobic exercises for 20 to 30 minutes 3 x/week at moderate intensity
Strength exercises 2 to 3 days a week at moderate or high intensity (increasing weight load progressively).
Congestive heart failure Aerobic exercises for 20 to 30 minutes
3 x/week at moderate intensity.
Strength exercises (increasing weight load progressively) 2 to 3 days per week at moderate or high intensity.
Peripheral vascular disease 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercises, 3 x/ week (push a little further each time but with no pain).
Cerebrovascular accident Strength exercises 3x/week: increasing intensity progressively.
Balance exercises to improve mobility and prevent falls.
Stretching to prevent or treat contractures.
